Android P Developer Preview Start From Google Side , Android P developer Preview only support Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, as well as Android Emulator.

get the Android P

  1. Click Tools > SDK Manager
  2. SDK Platforms tab, select Android P Preview
  3. SDK Tool tab, select Android SDK Build-Tools 28-rc1
  4. Now OK to begin install

update build configuration in build.gradle file

P in the emulator

Running android P on the emulator is fast and convenient and it allows you to emulate any handset or tab

  1. Tools > SDK Manager
  2. SDK Platforms tab, select Show Package Details at the bottom of the window.
  3. Below Android P Preview, select a system image such as Google APIs Intel x86 Atom System Image.
  4. In the SDK Tools tab, select the latest version of Android Emulator (27.1.12 or higher)
  5. Boom, OK to begin install.
  6. select Tools > AVD Manager and follow the instructions to create a new AVD.
    Be sure to select a device definition that does not include Play Store, and select P for the system image.
  7. Double-click your new virtual device to launch it.
